Making the city talk – at the event series of “Frankfurt machen”

With Frankfurt machen, we developed an event series that turned local politics into something visible, approachable, and a series of events to partake in.
Five topics, five acts, five events – each designed to spark curiosity and start conversation.

Creating a coherent identity across print, digital, and outdoor media fueled the events recognition value and increased general interest. Key visuals that set the scene for different speakers and the variety of perspectives, and a naming that connected citizens online and on-site. The result was a campaign that didn’t just promote dialogue, but embodied it — making politics accessible, relatable, and part of Frankfurt’s street life.

Frankfurt machbar: Talking about the city’s future

When the pandemic brought the city to a standstill once again, we had to rethink how to keep “Frankfurt machen” alive. The live events turned into a new format: Frankfurt machbar, a hybrid dialogue series featuring locally known personalities who stood for the city’s creative and civic spirit.

Instead of large gatherings, we shifted to smaller, broadcast-friendly formats and social media content that carried the same openness and curiosity as the live experience. The new approach kept the project visible and relevant, ensuring that conversation didn’t stop – it simply changed channels.

Through agile branding, adaptable content, and recognizable faces, Frankfurt machbar proved that even in lockdown, design and storytelling can keep a city connected.
